It is because of THIS POST that I have achieved the riDONKulous maximum number of Live Journal icons. (That's 198 for those of you keeping track.)

[livejournal.com profile] olivetree, I see a couple with your fingerprints all over them. You, too, [livejournal.com profile] jenna_thorn mostly 'cuz of the cookies... and I distinctly heard the Slytherin quotes spoken in [livejournal.com profile] wyckedgood's voice... or was that [livejournal.com profile] cluegirl?

,
-a

who isn't ashamed to have yoinked more Slytherin icons than any of the others, but is a little ashamed to have been tempted by Ravenclaw Hufflepuff ones... but only a little.

Reading B's music request post reminded me of a travesty (not to be confused with a Travisty, which also occurs sometimes in my world) that must be remedied—though I'll need you more-graphically-gifted-than-I folk on my flist to do so.

How is it (she asked, non-rhetorically) that I don't have a "music-based life form" LJ icon? SRSLY!

I'm picturing somewhat of a hybrid between a treble clef and a DNA helix... with sparkly bits. ;-)

*clapclap* Go forth, interwebs, and make this happen!

[livejournal.com profile] arbiter_of_cool found this truly inspiring picture

to counter some of the horrific ones coming out of Iran these days.

Of course, I had to make it into an icon. What can I say? It's a lovely image, made even more poignant given its origin. Something in it spoke to me.

Check my comments in his post if you wish another version of it. Snag and use as you will. Credit me, if you're so inclined kthxbye.

... or showing off my marginal icon making skills because the subject matter amused me (and really, what's not to love about a drunk nun with a tommy gun?). If you have played Arkham Horror with [livejournal.com profile] thebb73, you'll understand:

Blossom, I'll send you the source files and you can decide which one to use (or ask me to make changes).

If you would like to play along ...

1. Reply to this post, and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

Shuna Sassi

This is how you & I bonded - over the fabulous Nightbreed. She's my favorite character. I love the physicality of the actress who played her. She is sensual and ferocious. I love the humanity of the monsters of Midian, and the reminder that monstrous is as monstrous does.

Hedwig - Origin of Love

[livejournal.com profile] inanis_sum made this; I found it searching for icons from Hedwig and the Angry Inch, which is one of my favorite films. The music is a blend of punk and glam rock, and the lyrics are clever... and often epic, as is the case with "Origin of Love," one of my favorite songs in the history of EVAR. I remember sitting next to [livejournal.com profile] buffalobills at the Angelika and thinking I was a hopeless schmoob for crying... and then I heard the scattered sniffles from varied corners of the theatre. Everyone was so moved... it was visceral. I love the song so much that [livejournal.com profile] meatpie and I did an acoustic cover that didn't turn out half bad... (if I do say so myself).

Rome - Vorenus burdened

You are dead on for picking icons from some of my favorite obsessions! [livejournal.com profile] mithlim deserves credit for this tidbit from HBO's "Rome." Plus, I will watch anything if Kevin McKidd is in it. Loved him in "Dog Soldiers," and "Rome" clinched it for me (though it was accompanied by an undying fascination with/love for Ray Stephenson). I loved Vorenus' character growth, from a career soldier who believed in logic and orders and the Republic, to a disenchanted rebel trying to figure out what is right when his country betrays him. I am half-holding my breath at rumors of a possible "Rome" movie... but in the meantime, I'll dig on McKidd as McArmy on Grey's Anatomy.

Tequila whore

Ye gods do I love good tequila. I'm not sure if it was [livejournal.com profile] wyckedgood or [livejournal.com profile] starwyse who started the conversation, but there was lamenting the lack of tequila icons at some point... and agreement that yes, we were all unabashed tequila whores.

Spirit

I don't remember where I found this, but it's one of my original icons. I fell in love with her mystery and sensuality. It's sort of wish fulfillment, too... if I could choose a spirit form, this is what my fantasy witchy self would be. Plus, she has pomegranate... tasty and symbolic. What's not to like?
