Otherwise known as the "That Which Does Not Suck" meme started by [livejournal.com profile] apocalypticbob, wherein the participants agree to chronicle the things in life that are good (or simply do not suck) for a whole week. For some, it's a perspective shift to realize there's always at least 1 thing that doesn't suck. For others, it's a pleasant reminder of how much good swirls about at any given moment.

So... I've done it for a whole week! That really should be first on my list.

2) So much music in my world! My 40 gig MP3 player is full, and I've only ripped about 1/4 of my music collection (which is a great reason to save for a 120 gig Zune)...

3) Making sooper-sekrit plans for a dear friend

4) I get to see [livejournal.com profile] buffalobills tonight and it doesn't have anything to do with football! (Not that I don't enjoy our weekly football parties, more like that was the ONLY time I'd get to see her since she couldn't "D" for QAL anymore!)

4b) Harry Potter in IMAX

5) I slept through the night and woke up WAY less groggy (yay for thyroid meds!); in fact, I was almost functional.

6) I have a job. Seeing all the talented people out there who cannot say the same makes me grateful and a little guilty 'cuz it seems so random. (Then again, Boobonic Plague at 40 is pretty damned random, so here we are.)

7) I am healing. It's more noticeable every day.

So... what didn't suck in your world today?

Gonna combine days 5 – 6 into one post since I couldn't be arsed to get online and make with the typing yesterday. So... on with the list of That Which Does Not Suck:

1) Breakfast at Norma's (mmmm bacon and crispy hash browns).

2) A new dress that I can wear even in my fashion-impaired state of "can't wear most things because of OW!" Loving the maxi-dress trend.

3) Time spent with my dearest Hens—Mambo Taxis, laughter, and picking up right where we all left off. What a perfect night!

4) A hobbit-like larder of many delicious possibilities.

5) New end table and lamp from Target for under $100 total. FTW!

6) Caught a new bug in Animal Crossing.

7) "Coraline" on DVD. *Gaiman♥*

8) Loaded spuds for supper... tasty and easy to cook/clean up.

9) A sweet boy who, upon coming home late and finding me sprawled but resting, took to the couch to let me get some rest.

10) New Wonka t-shirt from The Cotton Factory.

So for today's offering, I present my list:
1) Athleisure ballet flats from Target. They are cute and comfy, and not so dear that I couldn't afford both colors.

2) It's Friday/payday!

3) I have fun plans for tomorrow night with some of my most long-standing and dearest girlfriends hens. Today, I am having fun looking forward to it, and knowing that I can post about the fun had in another entry. (The gift that keeps on giving...)

4) Another day free of radiation so that my skin can heal (we'll ignore the fact that healing skin is almost worse than the burned bits). In fact, I don't go back until Wednesday!

5) Finding new LJ icons (or revisiting old ones) that amuse me. This definitely does not suck.

6) You lot. I know I mentioned friend-type stuff in this context on yesterday's post, but you all are a constant source of teh happeh for me. So, la.

7) Planning at least 3 new tattoos before 2010 (and at least 2 of those far more immediately).

EDIT: 8) Random ice cream! Neighboring department's employee is heading back to school, and they're having an ice cream social/going away party. With sprinkles!

1) My employer is very understanding of my health situation, even though I'm still a consultant.

2) I am connected to many amazing, loving, talented people.

3) I'm getting smarter at knowing when to push myself and when to take care of myself.

4) Dinner on the way, and it's not pizza or Chinese. I am glad of this, as it was a low energy day. Ordering on the Web, Oms and Noms, and then I throw out the dishes. That's about my speed.

5) Have I mentioned that I have fabulous friends? As my Gram would say, "It bears repeating." And that in and of itself is the awesomecakes.
