Derby Happenings

sandmansisterCriminy, I'm pooped... but lots going on and won't have time to jot anything in the forseeable future so here's the lowdown:
~ Got my skates (Carrera red devils) with skully lug nut caps. Ree! They skate like a dream. Big Luke out at Interskate even gave me a free set of outdoor wheels *happy skate-havin dance*
~ Derby Devils represented at the Texas Rollergirl bout. Our shirts are teh hawt and we had oodles of us in them. Heh.
~ Sponsors coming on board, including lots of cool goods/services donations for stuff we desperately need
~ Fight stuffus with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
unclesiko. That's always teh g00d.
~ Oodles of events - odds are good we'll be in the Greenville Avenue St. Patrick's Day parade! We're also confirming dates to carhop at local Sonics, hustlin' for tips, yo.
~ Our first big fundraiser (April 2nd at the Double Wide in Deep Ellum) is going to kick ass. 3 bands, $7 and fun like raffles (cigars, "adult tupperware," gift certificates from Obscurities), Derby Discipline and photo booth
~ Two words: Mini Bout! It's Sunday, May 22nd. Details forthcoming as we hammer them out this weekend, but this first one will be at Holiday Skatium in Haltom City. Doors open at 6:30pm. We'll start with "Skate with a Derby Devil" and segue into a 15 minute (single period) exhibition.
~ Dallas Observer - this week's edition (out Thursday, I believe) will feature an article on us. Yours truly was one of the interviewees. Good times. (Will provide online links for out of towners.)
And now, you must excuse me. I have a hot date with my mattress. It's feeling neglected and unloved lately.
