I love my friends
Jul. 29th, 2005 09:20 amThat should be a "Well DUH!" moment, but as my Gram often said, "It bears repeating." Thanks for understanding my frustration and fears about my vocal rehab. I'm going to use this as a practice in shifting my perspective. Could get rather old, I imagine, but there's nothing to be done for it. Might as well play along. We'll see how this experiment changes me. Besides, I've been insanely busy for months now - more than usual, anyway, which is saying a lot - and perhaps this is the excuse for the break I need from the flurry of (more or less) forced social activity. Plus, I can do some work on my inside. It's sure forcing me to monitor my self talk pretty carefully.
Man, I'm a kook.
But at least with this focus I'm able to catch it and force myself back into the present. "What can you do right here and now to affect/alter ________? If the answer is 'nothing' then be still until that changes."
And mad luurve to
thebb73 for bringing me a notepad and pen last night. It will do nicely until I can get a toy like wee Starfish had. ;-)
