sandmansisterMeant to say in my last post how much I enjoyed my first outing to Dickens on the Strand. What a lovely area, and hooray for fun shopping! In the small world category, a co-worker's husband used to work for the Tremont Hotel. Hmmm. Enjoyed the company, and had just enough caroling to remind me of the best parts of Omni, only without the seasonal burn out. Also enjoyed copious amounts of seafood (mmmm, San Francisco fondue).

lebean. See, Delia & I were talking baking. She complained that her silicon bread pans cooked things evenly, but too much. She had adjusted the bake time down at least 15 minutes and the bread still burned. I puzzled over that, explaining that I had a silicon bundt pan, and made this great coffee cake in it. You just flip it over, give a little jiggle and it comes out beautifully. (You can see where this is going, can't you?)
I glance over at the other table, andlebean is turning a lovely shade of purple (go fig) and flailing about. I give her the "WTF?!?" sign, and she tells me what she heard.
Yeah, good times.
I laughed so hard—say it with me—a little pee almost came out. Oh, and the restaurant turned up the music to drown out my big mouth. (Sorry,dleighb.)
In other news, I had to take a pic of what The Arbiter has dubbed "The Christmas Carrot." I'm not sure what my neighbors were going for, but I'm pretty sure that's not it:
