Reality sets in
Aug. 15th, 2005 12:33 pmI sign the lease today. Now comes the panic portion of the program. I still have so much crap to pack (ye gods, I only inhabited two frappin' rooms, how did I get all that shite?!?!) and of course no goddamn time.
I was fairly productive this weekend. Bought my new desk and some more bookshelves, sorted through filing, packed another 3-4 boxes o' crap (until I ran out of boxes), and even got my new TV and home theatre (thanks again for the bargain shopping tips,
meatpie!)... so why do I feel like such a slack-ass?!?
It's not at all the time to realize we have a 4 hour derby board meeting on Sunday (the LAST SUNDAY before I move) after which comes a critical 2 hour practice. Nor is it time to realize that the following weekend is our next bout. JEEBUS!! We've also added team practice to the weekly roster. Whoops, there go my Monday nights (going the way of Sundays & Tuesdays - league practice - and Thursdays for QAL). I just pray to whatever benevolent deities harboring any shred of affection for me that I qualify... then again, if I don't then my schedule eases up significantly in crunch time (but I look like a sorry-ass slacker and will be v. embarrassed to show my face at the rink ever ever ever again).
>.<
Still have to do so much... and I refuse to think about the bout press release and promo I have to coordinate or I really will go 'splody:
~ Book truck and/or movers
~ Move boxes already packed into garage
~ Buy boxes to pack more stuff (most clothes/shoes, toiletries, 2-3 more shelves of knock-knacks & photos, small kitchen items)
~ Repack several items in storage for easier handling come move time
~ Connect power
~ Connect water/gas
~ Notify storage of move out
~ Decide if I want landline and if so, get one
~ Transfer DSL
~ Change address on all bills
~ Whatever else my panic-addled pea brain is surely forgetting
Then comes the real fun. Once it's all unloaded I have to dust, wash, boil, spray, vacuum, and generally disinfect EVERYTHING from storage (90% of what I own) before it's usable.
Hory Clap.
I think this is beyond "Arglebargle! Arglebarg!" now. *le sigh*
