What's shakin'

They're moving my cubie. Boo. For the most part, I like my neighbors. Especially our reporting/analyst guy and our communications person. They get my stupid movie quotes. She was playing *.wav files from "The Incredibles" earlier, so I did my Edna impression. They lamented losing me. I'll only be 5-6 aisles down, but still... boo.
I thought I was getting out early today thanks to the move. The email said, "You will need to leave at 2pm." I was all ready to go... and realized it's not until Monday. So boo for not leaving early today. But a short Monday? I'm down with that.
Got a couple new projects since one of our contractors is leaving. Yeesh. They know I am maxed on my workload, though, and are at least striving to sound reasonable about deadlines. We shall see.
It felt weird not to skate at the Oct. 30th roller derby bout, but my leave of absence was *so* the right decision. The instant relief I felt upon temporarily bowing out told me everything I needed to know. QAL did the National Anthem as per ususal, so I got to watch my High Seas Hotties in the first half. We had two new skaters lose their derby cherries and they did a great job. I also got to remember what I love about derby. It had started to feel like such a beatdown that I wasn't sure I'd ever want to go back. Now I know that I do... just not quite yet. ;-)
I'm feeling very much the homebody these days, enjoying a few moments of Domestic Goddessness. Made beef stew on Hallowe'en... with the cold and rainy weather, it really hit the spot. Made pumpkin raisin muffins of much yummy too. Of course I enjoyed the cooking as much as the eating. (Clean up, however, will always suck.)
Have a few last-minute sewing tasks to get the new looks ready for QAL's TRF appearance next weekend. We're leaving the crayon box look at home, going for Ocean one day and Flame the next. Apparently we'll be QALemental. D'Oh!
Hope to get my photographs hung this weekend, and perhaps begin organizing my bedroom. My closet space is minimal, as is my chest of drawers. And I have a metric ass-ton of clothes. What a mess. I need a solution that will serve until I can buy a new bedroom set (until I can sift through and decide what is garage sale fodder).
For all the work, I am enjoying getting settled. Everything will need curtains or shades of some sort too (yikes for time and $$$ but yay for pretty factor), and all in all it's looking more and more like a home. I am digging spending quiet time there. I'm not necessarily antisocial, but the pull of home and hearth is strong these days.
Having a sudden craving for a chocolate milkshake. Leftover Halloween candy just won't cut it. Bah.
